Working Together to Manage Emergencies: Local Grants Scheme and National Emergency Volunteers Fund

Read the Press Release from the Attorney-General, Robert McClelland about the 2008-2009 Working Together to Manage Emergencies program.

The 2008-2009 program will consist only of the National Emergency Volunteer Support Fund (NEVSF).  The Local Grants Scheme will not be offered.

The NEVSF focuses on emergency management volunteers in recognition of their needs and the significant front line role they play in reducing vulnerability and enhancing community safety.

Applications for 08/09 Grants closed on 7 March 2008. It is anticipated an announcement will be made in July 2008 of successful 08/09 recipients.

Grants are available for projects that assist in maintaining adequate staffing and training levels and that address the challenge of attracting new volunteers.  Details of the program and how to apply are shown below:
