  On 3 February, TC Nancy crossed the coast near Byron Bay, north coast, NSW causing mainly flood damage and resulted in five drowning deaths on the NSW north coast and one in SE Qld. See 'Related events' for flood impacts etc. There was some damage to houses on the islands around Moreton Bay as the maximum wind gust of 73 knots was recorded at Cape Moreton Lighthouse.
