  The effects of the cyclone were felt from Noosa on the Sunshine Coast to Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast. The storm surge brought water into the streets at Urangan, and a large wave train sent a tidal like wave into Currumbin Creek, where a man was washed off the bank and drowned.
