Dingo Creek - The Recovery
Aimed at school students from years 5-9 ‘Dingo Creek - The recovery’ is based on real life issues and problems that affect a community after a disaster. You will look at the aftermath of a disaster and deal with the problems involved in rebuilding a community, not just the physical reconstruction, but the social, economic and environmental rebuilding necessary.
Following on from ‘Dingo Creek - The Disaster’, ‘Dingo Creek - The Recovery’ can be played as a sequel or as a stand alone game. The two learning games aim to explain broader emergency management concepts and issues.
A teaching manual and six class activity sheets are provided.
By raising awareness of the risk of disasters, preparedness and recovery measures we hope to help build the skills of individuals, families and communities to cope in these situations.
