Unit descriptor
This course covers business continuity management concepts and principles and the relationship between business continuity, emergency management and risk management. The program stresses a strategic perspective with high level communication and liaison requirements.
Content
- Developing and ensuring implementation of an organisational business continuity strategy.
- Conducting exercises for the management/executive team to test and validate business continuity management arrangements, identify improvement opportunities and integrate the lessons learnt into the organisations policies, procedures and quality assurance arrangements.
- The integration of business continuity management, risk management, emergency management and quality assurance to ensure the organisation can continue to meet business objectives and maintain appropriate governance.
- An overview of the principles of organisational recovery and an introduction to the suite of EMA recovery programs which can be customised for specific business contexts.
Assessment and certification
Participants will be required to successfully complete all assessment tasks in order to be awarded a Statement of Attainment.
Prerequisite
Participants should have successfully completed Introduction to Emergency Risk Management or equivalent.
