Volunteers National Photographic Competition 2010
The National Emergency Management Volunteers Photographic Competition is an initiative of the Attorney-General’s Department. This year’s Competition was supported by State and Territory governments and prizes were sponsored by Harvey Norman.
While this is the third time the Attorney-General’s Department has run this Competition, this was the first time for three categories: (i) professional photographers, (ii) individuals (not professional photographers) and (iii) secondary school students (Years 9-12).
Awards were presented to photographers who aptly captured an image depicting the capability and commitment of emergency management volunteers in Australia and fitting in with the Competition theme ‘Emergency Management Volunteers – Thank You’.
This year, a total of three national winning entries, five national highly commended entries, one national commended entry and nine State/Territory highly commended entries were chosen for announcement at a special Awards Presentation held during National Volunteer Week 10-16 May 2010, with the Federal Attorney-General, Mr Robert McClelland, Senator, the Hon Ursula Stephens and State and Territory emergency management representatives.
